NEW - Sunday School Curriculum for Lent > The CAP Sunday School, junior section, is a meeting place of forty-three beautiful minds, formally divided into primary, secondary, sub-junior and junior groups. These forty-three children find their courtyards of joy in their respective groups. Let us delve a little further, to find out what lies in the courtyards of the CAP Sunday School, junior section. The CompositionCAP’s system of classification is along the lines of that of secular education. The entire purpose is to bring children of similar age groups to explore the Lord's kingdom in a `fellowship'. The Primary section comprises of kindergarten. The Secondary section comprises of students from Grade 1 to Grade 3. Students from Grade 3 to Grade 5 are grouped in the Sub-Junior section while students from Grade 5 to Grade 7 are grouped in the Junior section. The Courtyard ConversationThough formally classified in a secular format, the Sunday School at CAP is more an area of exploration, edification and evaluation for the children. In other words, it is God’s chosen place for children to break open their mysterious shells and 'move' towards knowing their Saviour better. Parallel to this enthusiasm of the children, teachers at the CAP Sunday School take the initiative, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to share Biblical truths with children. More than imparting, the children and teachers compare real-life situations with the Word of God to find out if the lives of the latter and former are in sync with Scripture. One illustration of sharing God’s Word can be traced back to the Lenten period. A special curriculum covering Lent, the Crucifixion and Easter was prepared for the children. The curriculum, which is more than a syllabus, is a guideline for children to find answers related to their daily lives. The curriculum motivated them to dig through the Bible to find out what it says when the devil plays his cunning tunes. In all this the children learn to depend on God their Father. This amazing dependency on God their Father and intimacy with His Son, Jesus, has brought them closer to realising what it feels like and what their lives will actually be like when Christ becomes their personal Saviour.
