1) How would you characterize 2009 in regards to your walk with the Lord? What were the blessings? What were some of the challenges or difficulties?
2) Share briefly with the group where you would like to be with the Lord by the end of 2010.(Try to be specific instead of generalizing)
3) READ Luke 8:4-5,11-12 – What do you think the devil realizes about the word of God that we sometimes fail to grasp or accept? (Scriptural references for help: 2 Timothy 3:16,17; Luke 4:3-4,9-13; Ephesians 6:17)
4) What do you find to be the most difficult aspect of getting into the word of God apart from reading a devotional?

5) READ Luke 8:6,13 – How do trials or outside circumstances become a temptation to us to doubt God and His goodness toward us?
6) READ Luke 8:7,14 – In your life which of these three, mentioned in the passage, have you had to deal more with?(Note: We all have fallen or struggled with one of or all of these three mentioned) Do you find any of these struggles to be a part of your family background?
7) READ Luke 8:8,15 – What is meant by hearing the word with “an honest and good heart”? How can Psalm 51:17 be connected to and honest and good heart?
8) How does obeying God’s word involve perseverance?
9) As we have meditated on these passages what do you need prayer for the most in order to walk with God more intimately in 2010 than in 2009?
10) Close the time in prayer, asking the Lord to make us good soil in which He can plough through taking up all rocks and weeds that could hinder us from hearing Him in 2010.
