It was September 27, 2009 a person named Sujeeth came seeking to the Hindi service. As I came to know him he told me he used to be a demon worshiper and there are demons inside him who manifest, trouble and give him sleepless nights.
He first tasted blood (Christ) at a church in Colaba where five demons came out of him. After that he started seeking Christ. From then on he started meeting me and attending church regularly. Gradually, even with the demons inside him, he started praying and sharing Christ to others and even to those he introduced to demon worship. The demons tried their best to discourage him and they pushed him to the limit.
Cut off all sources of income. Even to the point of troubling his wife and children (one child fell from the stairs fracturing and dislocating her arm, the demons manifested through the other, sickness etc.). I have seen his agony and tears, and also his resolve to follow Christ in those situations. The reason he said was, “because now I know who the Lord is”. The last four months with him have been a time of intense prayers, casting out those demons and discipling through the word. Today in the name of Jesus, he is freed from those countless demons. Hallelujah! He sleeps peacefully because of what the Lord has done in his life. (Thanks also to pastor, the prayer team and others for their support). 1 John 1:4 says that the reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 2 Cor. 10:4 further says that the weapons that we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, it has the divine power to demolish strongholds. Also let me share about Baban – a middle aged man, an alcoholic from his youth – who after watching miracles happening in Christ’s name on TV prayed a short prayer to Christ before going to sleep, that “if you really are God remove my addiction to alcohol.” Next day early morning forgetting all about what he had prayed as he was casually looking out of the window, he saw two lights coming and entering his eyes. He fell back on his bed and was blinded for sometime and then he remembered his prayer. Let me tell you he has not touched alcohol since. God listens to us when we pray. He listens to even drunkards. We don’t listen to them but God does. Today, I am very pleased to see Sujeeth, his childlike love for the Lord, his hunger for the word and readiness to preach the name and power of Christ and also Baban who worships the Lord with abandon. They follow Christ because now they know who the Lord is. Elijah challenged the Israelites on Mount Carmel: If the Lord is God follow Him --- the challenge is up to us even today. Do you know who the Lord is? If the answer is yes, and Christ, then follow Him. Do you know what Christ has achieved for us through the cross? Freedom from sin and Satan’s clutches. The power that we have in Jesus’ name not only saves and protects us, but also empowers us to make things happen thus destroying the work of the evil one. It is beyond what we can even imagine. Therefore, I urge you to continue having fellowship with Christ, because no other name is worthy to be called “LORD”. Also dear loved ones, there are many Sujeeths and Babans in this world who need to know the lord. Who are still to taste freedom. Continue praying for the lost. Live by faith and not by sight. Honour the name of Christ wherever you are; be ready to be a fool for Christ. Stand in the gap. Also continue praying for the Hindi church (the ministry, the Sunday School and the people who minister) where God is moving mightily and for people yet to know that indeed – ‘Mukti dilaye Yeshu Naam, Shanti Dilaye Yeshu Naam’ (The name of Jesus gives freedom and peace). Amen! Ronnie John Daniel
