First Things First – Study Guide
1) When waking up every morning what/who gets first priority?

2) What is your second priority?
3) READ Psalm 5:3 and Mark 1:35 – Why do you suppose prayer was at the top of the list for both David and Jesus in the morning? What is the greatest challenge for us making prayer a top priority?
4) READ Revelation 2:1-3 – What were the priorities of this fellowship of believers? Discuss each priority mentioned. On a scale of 1 to 10 how would you rate the church in Ephesus in terms of being rightly focused in their priorities?
5) READ Revelation 2:4-5 – As the Lord looked upon his people in Ephesus what did He see that they couldn’t see concerning their priorities?
6) How do we fall into the trap of doing things we think are pleasing to God and yet walk away from Him as our first love?
7) Looking again at Revelation 2:5 what are the three ways in which we come back to Christ as our first love?
8) On a sheet of paper that is for your eyes only, spend some time writing down things you did when you first came to Christ Jesus that you aren’t doing now but that the Lord may be calling you back to.(Write down specific events that you remember that continue to bless you as you look back on them.)
Close the time in prayer asking the Lord for wisdom to discern things or people in your life which can easily tempt you to leave your first love, Jesus Christ.
