1)      How is the communion Sunday service for you any different than a regular Sunday service when communion is not served? What thoughts run through your heart as you prepare for the Lords supper?

2)      Read 1 Corinthians: 11:17-22 what was Paul’s objection with the church of Corinth in these verses? Discuss the possible reasons where they had missed the Agape love in the Lords supper over carnal agenda? The key issue with the Church of Corinth’s seemed that they  had made the Lords supper into a social gathering where people were treated according to the class, which is contrary to the invitation offered by our Lord, which is for ALL without any discrimination (Jesus died for ‘All’ -Galatians 3:28, Colossians 3:11)

3)      Read 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 Discuss the significance of the last supper, what truths do we recognize as we celebrate the breaking of the bread & the drinking of the juice?

·         We must remember the sacrifice given for us.

·         Not to treat it like a ritual-

·         We must examine our self-

·         Treat it worthily-

4)      Read John 6:32-35 & 1 Corinthian 11:23-26 what connection & fulfillment do we see in the two verses?

5)      Even as we partake in the Lords supper how should the symbol of the bread & juice speak to us?

·         Intense suffering. ( Isaiah 53:5)

·         It was for our sins ( Isaiah 53:5)

·         Gods’ love is manifested through the sacrifice of his Son. (John 3:16)

·         The breaking of Christ’s body removes all barriers & gives us access into a Holy relation with God. (Matthew 27:51)

6)      Discuss why is it necessary to announce the death of our Lord on the cross every time we partake the Lords supper? What truth do we confess as we do that?(death of Christ is central to our faith)

7)      Read Leviticus 4*,Romans 8:1-4 check the contrast between the passages, study through both the verses how the sin offering found in the OT has been perfected through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (*narrate the sin offering to the group in simple way if necessary)

8)      Just as the High priest would enter the Holy of the Holies with much trepidation and seriousness, we need to realize that breaking of bread & partaking of the Juice symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice & redemption of ALL our sins. (John1:9)Therefore it is necessary for us to examine our self & receive the Lord’s Supper in a worthy manner because of ‘the priceless sacrifice’ that has been given as a free gift, to all who believe.

9)      Pray for one another for needs if any. Revisit the Lords supper with renewed understanding from the Holy Spirit, pray for new insights & Ask forgiveness if we have trivialized it because of familiarity.
