1. In today’s times, which virtue according to you is much sought after & which virtue is looked down upon? Why do you think so? On a piece of paper, ask the group to  list the following points as per its value

1. What is False Humility? What is good pride?

1. Read Mathew 5:5, 23-12 Jesus said to his followers “the meek will inherit the earth”, & “the one who humbles himself will be exalted”. What kind of meekness & humility is Jesus talking about? –discuss

1. Look in the Bible for places where man’s weakness, brokenness or contriteness has pleased God? Why? (Isaiah 57:15, Psalm 51:17)

1. Can we fall prey to pride? What will it lead to? Where in the Bible are there instances when pride had brought a downfall? - Discuss. (Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:13, proverb 6;18 )

(Pride can often come as result of success, prosperity achievements etc.. Just like a true humble person, who is not aware of his humility, a person with pride seldom realizes his attitude. Exercising the spirit of self control on a daily basis, & to daily cloak our self with humility is a decision to walk in submission to one another in Christ Jesus. Also being vigilant, not to fall prey to the trap of the enemy. -Satan was the first to fall because of pride)

1. Read 1 Peter 5:5-6; Philippians 2:3. Identify the virtues that are contrary to each other. To which fruit (spirit / Flesh) can we associate it to? (Read Galatians 5:22)

1. Read John 12:49; Philippians 2:7; Jesus was obedient to the Authority of God in full humility, what are the challenges that we may encounter in day-to-day as we appropriate His Lordship in our lives? Share.
