Is a Warm Heart Enough?
1) Share a time in your life where the Lord touched your heart with His Presence. A time when your heart was wonderfully touched by Him.
2) READ Mark 9:17-24 – The boy’s father believed in Jesus yet also confessed his unbelief. As a father what areas in his own life could have made it difficult for him to trust that Jesus could heal his son?
3) READ Matthew 6:25-34 – How does worry affect our faith or trust in Jesus? If we don’t worry about these things aren’t we being irresponsible? Why or why not?
4) READ Matthew 6:33 – As you read this passage, what makes this passage so challenging in order to experience the promise of God?
5) How do you personally go about seeking the Lord on a daily basis?
6) READ Philippians 4:11-13 – A heart which is satisfied in Christ Jesus is a life which is content in different circumstances of life. In this passage where do we find the revelation of Paul’s contentment? HINT: Verse 13
7) In order for us to receive God’s strength for any given situation what must we do with those areas of our life which we have learned to rely on for strength? For Example: READ Philippians 3:3-8 – What did Paul have to die to as He learned to yield to Christ’s Lordship?
8) Write down on a piece of paper known areas of your life which you have trusted in to give you strength which the Lord is calling you to lay down at the cross today. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you His strength as you die to areas of the flesh which you have been relying on.
9) Pray a prayer of relinquishment and coming once again to the throne of Grace yielding to the Lordship of Christ. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach and empower you to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness.
10) Close the time praying a prayer of thanksgiving for all the Lord has done.
