18 Years and Counting!

ImageDear CAP Family,

April 20th 1997, eighteen years ago, was when the first CAP service started in our living room in Jal Vayu Vihar, and what an awesome journey it has been.  From that living room, God has moved us through five locations (including a Sunday on a terrace under scorching sun Smile to our present day location here at Kailash Vaibhav.  An interesting and incredible journey.

When we were thinking of CAP, as we were planning our return to India in 1996, Sheila and I had one desire—find out where and what God is doing and join Him for the ride--literally hang on to His coattails--as I’ve jokingly put it.  But what a ride it has been as each one you can testify.  God has not only deepened our understanding of Him, but allowed us to grow wider as well, helping us to plant nine churches along the way (six of whom we have handed over to local, autonomous leadership), a school in Orissa, ministry to disenfranchised people and another ministry into the corporate sector, to name a few.  And as a church, I know, all of us are humbled yet excited at what He is doing.

This Sunday we will celebrate God’s faithfulness over eighteen years and also look forward with anticipation to what lies ahead.  And as you come, would you prayerfully ask the Lord to show you your part in the forward momentum of CAP.  Let’s enter this new year with arms linked, ready to “press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us,” always reminding ourselves of that most supportive of Scriptures found in Phillipians 1:6, that we too are certain, “that God, who began the good work within you (us, here at CAP), will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

And to that end, let our voices be raised in a chorus of “amen & amen!” and we will always remember Lord, that “to You belong all glory and honour for the things You have done!”

Sheila and I are humbled by the journey thus far, but excited and enthusiastic about the prospects of CAP’s future—we trust you are too.

God’s amazing blessings on you, your loved ones and the work of your hands.

Agapé,
Pastor
