It's Worth A Hallelujah!
Image Lamentations.  It’s a five-poem dirge, stuck between two heavy-weights; easy to miss for its size, but difficult to digest for its content.  It’s the anguished account of the destruction of what was once a proud city and an honored nation.  A requiem—an elegy by a weeping seer.  And then suddenly, a silver lining emerges from within those dark, sultry clouds.  Hope makes an appearance, rising like a phoenix from the ashes of disappointment, disillusionment and hopelessness.  Hope, based not in the optimism of an energized people, but in the faithfulness of God.  In the words of the prophet Jeremiah, “Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing:  The Lord's unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The Lord is all I have, and so in Him I put my hope.” (Lamentations 3:21-24 GNT)  Beautiful words—words of Life!  A reminder to us, that when storm clouds threaten, and hopelessness descends like a depressing mantle, that the Lord of the squall is by our side—still with us, offering hope and consolation to our troubled hearts and minds.  Truly, “when we have no one left but God, God is enough!”  That’s worth a Hallelujah!! Wink
