Answer the following questions1. What is inside the human heart of the person I am reading about?Eve chose to listen to, and believe another voice which was not the voice of God. She knew it was not God speaking to her because she said, “God told us not to eat of the fruit or we will die”. The Bible tells us to resist Satan and he will flee from us, and to draw near to God and He will draw near to us. Eve instead stayed and talked with the serpent and that led to her doubting God and believing Satan. He tempted her with pride to be like God and to give in to what looked good to her eyes and what tasted good to her mouth. She disobeyed God’s law. 3.She then also tempted her husband to disobey God’s law. Later she tried to hide form God and did not accept her part in disobedience but tried to blame Satan. 2. What is inside my heart? Am I capable of doing something like this? ask Jesus to show you what is inside your own heart. Many times I also forget to flee from the devil and instead listen to the lies he is telling me. Sometimes I am not aware of his lies, because I don’t realize he can tell me lies through my good friends, TV, magazines, movies, music etc. Before I know it, I have believed a lie about what is right in God’s word and even about myself and others. It then grows from one sin to another like Eve. 3. How can Jesus help me in a situation like this?Satan is so cunning and always looking for a way to tempt me. I realize that I cannot on my own resist Satan. Jesus is my example in studying the word of God, praying, listening and being led by the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful He died on the cross, rose again, listens to my prayers and has sent the Holy Spirit to help me understand His Word and give me wisdom, discernment and strength to do what is right.
